THE WEDDING SINGER AUDITIONS MAR 1 & 3 2026

Fairfield Center Stage (Christy McIntosh-Newsom, Artistic Director; Eli Newsom, Executive Producer) is holding OPEN AUDITIONS (in-person and video submissions) for its upcoming spring musical production of THE WEDDING SINGER on March 1 & 3 2026. See below for audition specifics including times. The show will run May 8-17 at Wakeman Hall inside First Church Congregational in downtown Fairfield. Seeking a diverse cast, primarily adults (primarily ages 16+, but also seeking a couple kids aged 11-13 for a few numbers) of singers, actors, and dancers of all /types to join our production. FCS is a community theater group, Non-Equity, no pay.

The staff for THE WEDDING SINGER includes Christy McIntosh-Newsom (Director), Ken Legum (Music Director), and Bonnie Gregson (Choreographer). The production will run downtown Fairfield at performance venue Wakeman Hall (inside of First Church Congregational of Fairfield). Rehearsals are generally Mon-Thurs evenings 6-9:30pm and Sundays 3-7pm. Actors will not be needed every day until we get closer to opening. Required sitzprobe rehearsal (sing through with the orchestra) will occur on Sat May 2 at noon. All tech rehearsals are required and will take place the evenings of Sun May 3-7. Rehearsals will begin on or around Sun Mar 29 @ 3pm.

When: 
In-person open call auditions will occur on Sunday Mar 1 from 3-5:30pm and Tuesday Mar 3 from 6-7pm. If you are unable to attend in-person auditions you may submit your initial audition virtually (see below for submission instructions). Appointments are highly recommended for in-person auditions. See below for the audition signup link. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please cancel your audition appointment and submit an audition video.  

Callbacks, if needed, for THE WEDDING SINGER will take place on Tues Mar 3 in the evening. Note that not all roles require a callback.

What to prepare:
Please prepare a brief song (under one minute) in the style of the show (1980s pop song / singing from the show is ok). Please bring sheet music in the correct key. A capella singing is discouraged, and bluetooth/mobile devices with backing tracks will not be permitted.

After reserving an audition time slot, you will receive a link to fill out a digital audition form as well as submit a resume/headshot/recent photo.

VIDEO AUDITION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: If you are submitting your audition virtually,  please submit (1) a video of you singing (guidelines follow) and (2) the audition form (link below). Video: sing an approximate one-minute section of a song in the style of the show (contemporary musical theater (comedic song) or comedic christmas song - singing from the show is ok). Robbie Hart: The lead singer of a band. Handsome and charismatic. A truly 'nice' guy that has the classic lead singer aura and personality. Also a bit of a dreamer. In love with love until Linda leaves him at the altar and breaks his heart. Guitar skills a plus.

Sammy: The bass player in the wedding band and one of Robbie's best friends. A total guy's guy, but beneath his pretending to love being a bachelor he is actually in love with Holly.

Fairfield Center Stage (FCS), a community theater group, will present an immersive production of the American Tribal Love-Rock Musical HAIR on September 7 and 8 at Park City Music Hall (PCMH) in Black Rock. Tickets ($40 Reserved / $20 Standing Room / $45 Limited Table Seating) are available for sale here. The show marks a return to PCMH following recent successful concert performances of The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours”. 

The performance schedule is as follows: Sat Sep 7th @ 4pm and 8pm, and Sunday September 8 @ 3pm and 7pm. The performance schedule is as follows: Sat Sep 7th @ 4pm and 8pm, and Sunday September 8 @ 3pm and 7pm* (*all tickets at this performance Sun Sep 8th @ 7pm are just $20). Seating will be a mix of options including regular reserved seating, limited 4-top tables, and General Admission rear standing room. Doors open one hour before showtime where a full food and drink menu will be available. The approximate running time of HAIR is 2 hours and 15 minutes including one intermission.

About the show: 
The sensational, groundbreaking rock musical HAIR bursts with the jubilant spirit, raging rebellion and psychedelic color of the 1960s. A company of long-haired bohemian hippies on the cusp of adulthood champion freedom, pacifism, and joy, but confront a world thrown into chaos when one of their own receives a draft notice for the Vietnam War.

With chart-topping hits such as “Aquarius,” “Let the Sunshine In,” and “Good Morning, Starshine,” HAIR’s vibrant, groovy celebration of peace, love and life changed Broadway forever and still resonates today.

The all-local cast includes Robert Alexander, Karina Brea, Marcelo Calderon, Kaylin Cardozo, Grace Ferrante, Jim Hisey, Marcus Jackson, Kelsey Kaminski, Maggie Kruse, Nick Kuell, T. Sean Maher, Marcelle Morrisey, Josh Pickel, Lindsay Protsko, Markiss Robert, Leondra Smith-West, Gabrielle Tapper, Jennifer Turner, and Alexis Willoughby.

The all-local production staff includes Direction by Christy McIntosh-Newsom, Choreography by Emily Frangipane, and Music Direction by Eli Newsom. Fairfield Center Stage is led by Artistic Director Christy McIntosh-Newsom & Executive Producer Eli Newsom.

Seating policies: Tickets are $40 for Regular Reserved seating and $20 General Admission Standing Room (rear). A limited number of 4-top high tables with high back chairs are available at each performance for $45/person (sold as a 4-top, purchase entire table, includes table service, 2 drink minimum per guest at these tables). No refunds.

Age/Parental Advisory: per the agreement with the venue, patrons under the age of 21 may attend matinee performances only (Sep 7 @ 4pm, Sep 8 @ 3pm).  Evening performances (Sep 7 @ 8pm, Sep 8 @ 7pm) are ages 21+ only.  Due to mature subject matter, the minimum age for this production is 13+. Patrons ages 13-20 may only attend a matinee performance (Sep 7 @ 4pm, Sep 8 @ 3pm). HAIR contains mature themes and subject matter and we recommend that parents of minors research the production prior to purchasing tickets.

Drinks and food will be available before, during, and after the performance. Indoor public restrooms available. No outside food or drink allowed. Patrons will check in at the entrance and show their phone with the order confirmation email. No printed paper needed/accepted, as this is a contactless event. All sales, final, no refunds or exchanges, with the exception of an unforeseen canceled performance (in which case patrons will have the option to choose between being reseated at another performance, future credit, or a refund). Seeking an all-female-presenting cast of adult (16+) and children (ages 8+ for a small children’s ensemble) singers, actors, and/or dancers to join our production. FCS is a community theater group, Non-Equity, no pay.

JESUS: Leader of the twelve Apostles, a man, called the "Son of God" and the

"King of the Jews". Must be an amazing singer with an undeniable presence.

JUDAS: Arguably the antagonist of the show. One of the twelve apostles of

Jesus; concerned for the poor and the consequences of Jesus' fame. Must be an amazing singer with an undeniable presence.

MARY MAGDALENE: A follower of Jesus who finds herself falling in love with him. The

role requires an actress that can show grace, stability, weakness and

Compassion. Must be an amazing singer with an undeniable presence.

PILATE: Governor of Judea who foresees the events of Jesus' crucifixion from

beginning to aftermath in a dream and finds himself being presented

with that very situation.

KING HEROD: The King of Galilee; Jesus is brought to him for judgment after first being

taken to Pilate.

Gender: Female-identifying (also open to a male-identifying actor in drag)

PETER: One of Jesus' twelve apostles; denies Jesus three times upon the night of

Jesus' arrest to save himself.

Gender: Female-identifying

SIMON: One of Jesus' twelve apostles; urges Jesus to lead his followers into

battle against the Romans.

CAIAPHAS: High priest who sees Jesus as a threat to the nation.

ANNAS: Fellow priest at the side of Caiaphas who is persuaded by Caiaphas into
seeing Jesus as a threat.

THIS PRODUCTION CLOSED MARCH 24 — THANKS TO ALL WHO ATTENDED!

Inspired by the original 1936 film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a hysterical downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex and violence. FCS returns to Trevi Lounge following successful productions including FUN HOME (2023), THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW EXPERIENCE (2018-2023), LA CAGE AUX FOLLES (2022), CABARET (2019), and HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH (2018).
The performance schedule is as follows: Fri Mar 15 @ 7:30pm, Sat Mar 16 @ 7pm, Sun Mar 17 @ 4:20pm (yes, you read that correctly), Fri Mar 22 @ 7:30pm, Sat Mar 23 @ 7pm and Sun Mar 24 @ 4:20pm. Seating begins approximately 30 minutes before showtime and the approximate running time is 2 hours and 15 minutes including one intermission.

The addictive, clever musical numbers range from big Broadway-style showstoppers to swing tunes like "Down at the Ol' Five and Dime" and the Vegas-style "Listen to Jesus, Jimmy," featuring J.C. Himself leading a chorus of showgirl angels. Reefer Madness is a highly stylized and satirical political commentary that has fun lampooning everyone and everything. 

The all-local cast includes Robert Alexander, Sophie Bardos, Joe Cardozo, Kaylin Cardozo, Lisa Dahlstrom, Grace Ferrante, Marilyn Olsen, Lindsay Protsko, Elissa Ranney, and Jen Turner.

Parental Advisory: REEFER MADNESS is a highly stylized and satirical political commentary.  It contains adult humor, religious parody, and drug use, as well as suggested violence and sexual situations. REEFER MADNESS AUDITIONS JAN 7, 2024

Fairfield Center Stage (Christy McIntosh-Newsom, Artistic Director; Eli Newsom, Executive Producer) is holding OPEN AUDITIONS (in-person and video submissions) for its upcoming winter musical production of REEFER MADNESS on January 7th from 5-7pm @ Trevi Lounge in Fairfield. See below for audition specifics. The show will run March 15-24 in downtown Fairfield. Seeking a diverse cast of 18+ year old singers, actors, and dancers of all types to join our production. FCS is a community theater group and all roles are open. Non-Equity, no pay.

The staff for REEFER MADNESS includes Maggie Meath (Director), Eli Newsom (Music Director), and Emily Frangipane (Choreographer). REEFER MADNESS will run at Trevi Lounge in Fairfield for two weekends, March 15-24. Rehearsals are generally Mon-Thurs evenings 6-9pm and Sundays 2-7pm. Actors will not be needed every day until we get closer to opening. All tech rehearsals are required and will take place the evenings of March 10-14. Rehearsals will begin around Monday, February 5.

When: 
In-person open call auditions will occur on Sunday January 7th from 5-7pm. If you are unable to attend in-person auditions you may submit your initial audition virtually (see below for submission instructions). Appointments are highly recommended for in-person auditions. See below for the audition signup link. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please cancel your audition appointment and submit an audition video.  

Callbacks for REEFER MADNESS will take place on Tues Jan 9 in the evening. Note that not all roles require a callback.

What to prepare:
Please prepare a brief song (under one minute) from or in the style of the show (singing from the show is ok). Please bring sheet music in the correct key. A cappella singing is discouraged, and bluetooth/mobile devices with backing tracks will not be permitted.

JIMMY HARPER – A wholesome, innocent, high school teenager who runs into trouble after he is lured into the dangerous world of reefer

LECTURER – A severe authority figure who warns the audience of the perils of Reefer Madness. (Doubles as Goat-Man, Mr. Poppy, Irish Priest, Old Man, Radio Announcer, Ticket-Taker, Policeman, FDR)

MARY LANE – Jimmy's sweetheart, a naïve, virginal teenage girl

JACK STONE – The handsome and ruthless proprietor of the Reefer Den, a 30's gangster movie-type. (Doubles as Jesus, George Washington)

MAE – An attractive, yet slightly haggard dame in her mid-30s, the hostess of the Reefer Den

RALPH WILEY – A denizen of the Reefer Den, formally a fraternity man, his college days ended long ago due to his reefer habit. (Doubles as Sally's Baby, Switch-Puller, Uncle Sam)

SALLY – A sexy and seductive resident of the Reefer Den, she possesses the libidinous soul of Mae West combined with the rat-a-tat moxie of vintage Barbara Stanwyck. (Doubles as Lady Liberty)

PLACARD GIRL – Throughout the play, she reinforces the warnings of the Lecturer by holding large signs that clearly state the moral of what we've just seen. (Doubles as Five-and-Dime Kid, Police Officer)

One-night-only benefit concert celebrating Broadway songs from the 1920s through today featuring a local cast of 50 singers and live on-stage orchestraSaturday November 2, 2024 @ 7pm @ First Church Congregational 148 Beach Rd in Fairfield

WHAT: A one-night-only gala concert featuring 20 songs by a cast of 50 singers and an on stage orchestra of 7 musicians, complete with a silent auction featuring thousands of dollars worth of prizes, live auction featuring access to exclusive house seats to Broadway shows, and concessions featuring wine and snacks.

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday November 2 @ 7pm @ Wakeman Hall inside First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Rd. in Fairfield, CT. Free parking lot onsite.

WHO: Since 2018, Fairfield Center Stage has produced over 40 local shows (musicals, plays, concerts, youth camp productions, readings). This November, FCS will celebrate Broadway songs from the past 100 years including songs from award winning shows such as Oklahoma, West Side Story, Hello Dolly, Annie, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, RENT, Wicked, Six, Hadestown, and more. The concert will also feature a preview appearance by the cast of our upcoming production of Oliver as well as a sneak peek of our spring production of Sister Act the Musical.

The show is helmed by FCS Artistic Director Christy McIntosh-Newsom, with Music Direction by Eli Newsom, and shared Choreography duties by Kellie Schweon Rosati and Jennifer Turner.

TICKET PRICING: Regular tickets are available now and are $35 for front reserved seating and $25 for mid/rear reserved seating. A limited number of VIP tables that seat 4 or 8 guests are available. Amenities for VIP patrons include: premium seating locations and a bottle of wine (choice of red, white, or sparkling, or non-alcoholic drink options) for the table. Pricing for VIP tables is $200 for a 4-top table and $400 for an 8-top table. All ticket proceeds support FCS’ operations of presenting quality musical theater utilizing local talent from Fairfield County.

CONCESSIONS/POLICIES: A bar with wine (red /white / sparkling), soft drinks, and candy/snacks will be open before and during the performance. Parking is free in the on-site lot. The approximate running time of the show is 2.5 hours including one extended intermission for auction bidding.

Parental Advisory: all ages welcome (all patrons must have a ticket), though we recommend this event for ages 10+.

More policies: Patrons will check in at the entrance and show their phone with order confirmation email. No printed paper needed/accepted, as this is a contactless event. WHAT: Community theater group Fairfield Center Stage (FCS) will present the musical comedy ELF, based on the hit movie starring Will Ferrell, in downtown Fairfield, CT. The show runs for three weekends, Nov 10-25, 2023 at Wakeman Hall inside First Church Congregational of Fairfield at 148 Beach Rd (free parking lot onsite). About the show: Based on the cherished 2003 New Line Cinema hit, ELF features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar (“The Wedding Singer”) and Chad Beguelin (Disney's “Aladdin on Broadway”), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (“Annie,” “The Producers,” “Hairspray”) and Bob Martin (“The Drowsy Chaperone”). 

Buddy, an orphaned baby, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Ticketing/seating policies: Regular reserved seating is available for $25. VIP table seating ($45) allows a bring-your-own-food option for 4-top and 6-top tables (must purchase entire table) and a tableside greeting from Santa (see below for details)! No outside drinks at this event per the agreement with the venue. Concessions (drinks/snacks) available before and throughout the performance.

Table Seating Bring-Your-Own-Food option: for VIP table patrons who have purchased a VIP table (sold as a 4-top or a 6-top) may choose to bring their own food to enjoy before and during the performance. No outside beverages permitted per the agreement with our venue. VIP patrons will also be provided their choice of a bottle of wine or non-alcoholic drinks (soda/water), and additional drinks may be purchased from concessions.

VIP tables also receive a pre-show visit to their table from Santa himself! The actor who plays Santa in our production of ELF will make a quick stop in character to the VIP section for a table-side photo with your party before the show 🎅🏻

Individual seated patrons ($25): seating will be in regular row seating (folding chairs), 12 seats per row. These season generals are a great way to be considered for all of the productions via one audition.

*This audition will also serve as the official OPEN CALL AUDITION for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, untitled Halloween Cabaret, and our FCS Rocks and New Works events, as we are actively casting those productions. If you would like to be considered for any of these shows, this is the audition to attend! Each remaining Main Stage production, including ANNIE, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (all-female production), and THE WEDDING SINGER, however, will have its own open call auditions specific to that show, closer to each production date.

SOME FAQ:
These auditions are the only opportunity to audition for "The Drowsy Chaperone" and any special events, including concerts, FCS Rocks "American Idiot" and the Playathon.

There will be open auditions for "Annie," "Jesus Christ Superstar," and "The Wedding Singer" later in the season. Auditions for "A Christmas Carol" will take place only if needed.

If you audition at these season general auditions and a director wants to invite you to callbacks for "Annie," "Jesus Christ Superstar" or "The Wedding Singer," you will receive an email in 1-2 weeks following these season general auditions, and then receive callback material later in the season (typically a few weeks before callbacks for that specific show). Those individual show audition dates have not been set, but here are the likely slots: Annie will audition in August, JC Superstar in January, and Wedding Singer in Feb or March.

Main Stage shows generally rehearse Mon-Thurs 6-9 or 6:30-9:30pm with kids being released by 8:30pm, and Sundays 3-7pm. These dates/times are subject to change per artistic staff availability. Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal. Child actors should be expected to stay later for tech/performance week and the week leading up to that.

Callbacks for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE will occur on Tuesday June 17 @ 6:30pm (not all roles require a callback). WHAT: A one-night-only gala concert featuring 20 songs by a cast of 50 singers and an on stage band, complete with a silent auction featuring thousands of dollars worth of prizes, live auction featuring access to exclusive house seats to Broadway shows, and concessions featuring wine and snacks.

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday Oct 11 2025 @ 7pm @ Wakeman Hall inside First Church Congregational, 148 Beach Rd. in Fairfield, CT. Free parking lot onsite.

WHO: Since 2018, Fairfield Center Stage has produced over 40 local shows (musicals, plays, concerts, youth camp productions, readings). Returning FCS performers in this concert will be “miscast,” offering a unique twist on beloved songs that they would not typically sing in a full production. The concert will also feature a preview appearance by the cast of our upcoming production of Annie as well as a sneak peek of our spring production of Jesus Christ Superstar and The Wedding Singer.

The show is helmed by FCS Artistic Director Christy McIntosh-Newsom, with Music Supervision by Eli Newsom, and shared Choreography duties by Kelsey Kaminski & Bonnie Gregson.

TICKET PRICING: Regular tickets are available now and are $35 for front reserved seating and $25 for mid/rear reserved seating. A limited number of VIP tables that seat 4 or 8 guests are available. Amenities for VIP patrons include: premium seating locations and a bottle of wine (choice of red, white, or sparkling, or non-alcoholic drink options) for the table. Pricing for VIP tables is $200 for a 4-top table and $400 for an 8-top table.  All ticket proceeds support FCS’ operations of presenting quality musical theater utilizing local talent from Fairfield County.

CONCESSIONS/POLICIES: A bar with wine (red /white / sparkling), soft drinks, and candy/snacks will be open before and during the performance. Patrons seated at VIP tables may bring outside food/snacks — no outside drinks permitted per the agreement with the venue. Parking is free in the on-site lot. The approximate running time of the show is 2.5 hours including one extended intermission for auction bidding. 

Parental Advisory: all ages welcome (all patrons must have a ticket), though we recommend this event for ages 10+.

More policies: Patrons will check in at the entrance and show their phone with order confirmation email. No printed paper needed/accepted, as this is a contactless event. All sales, final, no refunds or exchanges, with the exception of an unforeseen canceled performance (in which case patrons will have the option to choose between being future credit or a refund). Local community theater group Fairfield Center Stage presents a new cabaret concert titled Broadway DNA: Decoding a Showtune on Saturday March 29 @ Trevi Lounge in Fairfield. Featuring songs from classic and newer musicals and stories about their writers, the concert explores the craft through which songs express character and further dramatic action. Many of the songs will be well known, some less so, and some brand new

Longtime FCS Music Director and Composer Clay Zambo will serve as host and music director of the concert and has curated a setlist of 30+. The cast of singers includes Jane Barnes, Marc Improta, Cara Kramer, Nick Kuell, Julie Loyd, Samantha Moore, Marcelle Morrisey, Kevin Pelkey, Lindsay Protsko, Mark Silence, and Alexis Willoughby. The singers will be backed by 3 veteran FCS musicians: Clay Zambo (Keyboard/Music Director), Mac Johnston (Violin/Bass), and Gabe Nappi (Drums). Brian Bish serves as Director, with Chris Gensur providing Sound Design. The event is produced by Eli Newsom.

WHAT: Community theatre group Fairfield Center Stage (FCS) will present an all-female cast production of the 1970s rock opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in Fairfield, CT. The show runs for two weekends, March 20-28 inside the sanctuary of St. Timothy Campus of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 4670 Congress Street in Fairfield CT (free parking lot onsite & on street parking). Tickets ($35 reserved/front pews and $25 General Admission/rear pews) are on sale now.

WHEN: The performance schedule is as follows: Fri Mar 20 @ 7:30pm (opening), Sat Mar 21 @ 7pm, Sun Mar 22 @ 5pm, Fri Mar 27 @ 7:30pm, Sat Mar 28 @ 2pm, and Sat Mar 28 @ 7pm (closing).

WHO: This production will feature an all female cast of 22 local performers and a live onstage band of 6 musicians. All seating is on wooden church pews (audience members are welcome to bring stadium cushions etc).

Seating begins approximately 30 minutes before showtime

Running time: the approximate running time is 95 minutes, straight through. THERE WILL BE NO INTERMISSION AT THIS PRODUCTION.

Concession snacks and drinks will be available before the show and for the first 30 minutes of the performance. A bar with wine (red / white / sparkling), soft drinks, and candy/snacks will be open before and during the performance.

Parking is free in the on-site lot, as well as vicinity street parking. Indoor public restrooms will be available. ADA Parking: There are two ADA parking spots in the front loop, and that entrance is a flat pathway (no stairs) into the venue. The main/rear parking lot has 3 or so steps up.

About the show: The first musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 50 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christ’s life. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire.

The iconic 1970s rock score contains such well-known numbers as “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Gethsemane.” A true global phenomenon, Jesus Christ Superstar continues to touch new generations of audiences and performers.

Following this show the 2025/26 season concludes with The Wedding Singer (May 8-17, 2026). Plans for the 2026/27 season are currently underway. Open call auditions are held throughout the year at various times.
