Fairfield Center Stage (Christy McIntosh-Newsom, Artistic Director; Eli Newsom, Executive Producer) is holding open SEASON GENERAL AUDITIONS* for their upcoming 2026/27 season on Sunday June 14th from 3-6:30pm and Monday June 15th from 5:30-9pm at St. Paul’s Episopal Church, 661 Old Post Rd in Fairfield. Seeking actors and singers of all ages, types, ethnicities, etc. Non-equity, no pay. See below for show titles and production dates.

These season generals are a great way to be considered for all of the productions via one audition.

*This audition will also serve as the official OPEN CALL AUDITION
for FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and our FCS Rocks and New Works events, as we are actively casting those productions. If you would like to be considered for any of these shows, this is the audition to attend! Each remaining Main Stage production, including Cinderella, Sweeney Todd, and School of Rock, however, will have its own open call auditions specific to that show, closer to each production date.

SOME FAQ:
These auditions are the only opportunity to audition for Fiddler on the Roof and any special events, including concerts, FCS Rocks "Jagged Little Pill" and the Playathon.

There will be open auditions for Cinderella, Sweeney Todd, and School of Rock later in the season. Auditions for A Christmas Carol will take place only if needed.

If you audition at these season general auditions and a director wants to invite you to callbacks for Cinderella, Sweeney Todd, or School of Rock you will receive an email in 2-3 weeks following these season general auditions, and then receive callback material later in the season (typically a few weeks before callbacks for that specific show). Those individual show audition dates have not been set, but here are the likely slots: Cinderella will audition in August, Sweeney Todd in January, and School of Rock in Feb or March.

Main Stage shows generally rehearse Mon-Thurs 6-9 or 6:30-9:30pm with kids being released by 8:30pm, and Sundays 2-6pm or sometimes 3-7pm. Tech week we run longer hours. These dates/times are subject to change per artistic staff availability. Not every actor will be called to every rehearsal. Child actors should be expected to stay later for tech/performance week and the week leading up to that.

What to prepare:
All actors should bring a current headshot (or recent photo) and 1 page acting resume or list of theater/performing experience.

For those who would like to be considered for just the musicals (Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Sweeney Todd, School of Rock, Choir in A Christmas Carol Experience, Benefit Concert, FCS Rocks concert): Please prepare a selection/short song (around 1 min.) from a musical or pop song in the style of the show (singing from any of the shows is ok). Bring sheet music in the appropriate key. A capella singing is highly discouraged, please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. If you would like to be considered for multiple shows you may prepare two songs (note: due to time constraints you may only be asked for one so start with your favorite).

For those who would like to be considered for just the plays (A Christmas Carol Experience, New Works (ie Playathon) and special events TBA): Please prepare one short monologue that best shows you/your acting range--keep in mind that these generals are a way for us to get to know you as an actor.

For those who would like to be considered for both the musicals and plays:
Prepare both a short monologue and a song in the style of the show(s) for which you are interested in being considered. See details above.
