***AGES 6-7 seeking two female performers for the role of Gretl. See below for video audition submission guidelines and deadline. Only the two actresses who are cast will be officially invited to sign up for this particular session. (our summer and fall programs 2026 will have opportunities for more 6-7 year olds).***
AGES 6-7 seeking the role of GRETL only : For this particular session, we are only seeking two actresses to share the role of the youngest Von Trapp child, Gretl. (one child will do the 3pm performance, another the 7pm performance, and both should be able to cover in case of illness). Because of this unique situation, for this role only we are taking video submissions for auditions. We are only seeking 6-7 year olds for this role—if you are 8+ feel free to register for the program; however this role will be unavailable to regular participants ages 8+).
WHAT TO PREPARE:
(1) Film an audition video singing a short section of “Do Re Me” — DOWNLOAD/PLAY THIS TRACK (GRETL DO RE ME) and record video with a different device, host video (make sure it is viewable to us or they cannot be considered if we can’t view it!).

(3) email your audition via a private or unlisted YouTube or Vimeo link by no later than 6pm on Mon Dec 1 to christy@fairfieldcenterstage.org with the subject line GRETL AUDITION. Please no email attachments - send a link to a hosted, playable video. Videos that do not meet these requirements will not be considered. Decisions will be made by Dec 10 and all submissions will receive a response.
If you are selected to play the role, you will then need to register for the program and pay tuition by the existing timelines as described in the main registration page for the show and attend regular rehearsals with the rest of the group. If you are not selected for the show, we thank you in advance for your time and preparation and hope to see you at a future workshop/camp/production.
